Network Marketing is a simple business model. Anyone should be able to succeed, but they don't. Why? Turns out there are several common reasons. Here is a list of the biggest mistakes that make MLM success so elusive. Overcome these and your chances for success skyrocket.
1. Believing that people will just click on your links.
Though an internet network marketer's job is focused pre-selling, pre-selling involves more than just displaying your links. This is still network marketing and you need to build trust and a sense of relationship. Your prospects want to know the benefits of your products, why use them? Your prospects also want to know why they should do business with you. This can be accomplished online - don't overlook it.
2. Believing that there's such a thing as organic traffic.
Organic traffic, or traffic that is naturally generated by your website, is a myth. There is no such thing! You will have to promote your site and develop effective marketing strategies. These aren't hard but they do take effort.
3. Believing that employing one marketing strategy is enough.
This is a fatal mistake. Limiting yourself to a single, or even a couple of traffic tactics will just limit the number of visitors to your website. You don't want to miss whole segments of your target markets. You can start with one or two tactics to get traffic, but make sure you are flexible enough to expand as you grow.
4. Failing to study your campaign's performance.
Most of your competition merely check on how many leads they've generated per day, and if the number of leads are at low levels, they fail to make adjustments. Why? They don't know which aspects of their campaigns need improving. It's important to study every facet of our marketing strategies. How many visitors are you generating for your website? How many of them are unique? How many are returning? How much time do they spend in our pages? Where are they coming from? Where do they go with they are done? These are the questions that can be answered by an excellent visitor tracking software program, and these are the questions that can help you improve the performance of your marketing endeavors.
5. Failing to find an mlm business with sellable products.
Some mlm businesses offer attractive compensation plans. But if the products are impossible to sell, you'd never realize the growth in your business the program promises.
6. Failing to find an network marketing business with a proven record of consumer satisfaction.
The credibility of an enterprise depends on how people perceive it or view it. If the company has great relationships with it's members and its target market, then it has established a brand which is recognizable for its excellent service.
7. Failing to keep abreast with the latest developments in the industry.
This is a fatal error in any business or profession. Our industry strategies and tactics becomes obsolete if we don't keep up. More so in the field of internet marketing where technology keeps improving and everything moves at lightning rapid pace. You have to constantly update yourself with the newest trends, techniques and news in this field to keep your competitive edge.
8. Failing to invest on knowledge.
Knowledge likewise evolves and you have to evolve with it. Buy noteworthy eBooks, special reports and the likes… those which would teach you the latest tactics to help you conquer your field.
9. Resting on your laurels once begin seeing some success.
Success is not eternal. You have to sustain it. If you leave your business alone once it shows the promise of success, you're just setting it up for failure.
10. Believing that network marketing is a "get rich quick" scheme. It is not. You have to invest a commitment, a lot of time, some financial resources on occasions, and a whole lot of effort. Network marketing has many wonderful things to offer but it takes effort.

Commom MLM Pitfalls
Wow My First Blog!!!
It's amazing since I first got on the internet in the early 1980's. Way back then it was all text based with services like CompuServe and Delphi (I think that was the name). Bill Gates hadn't even pulled one over on IBM yet when the first personal computer arrived on my desk. It was an Apple II (not to be confused with Apple IIplus or IIe), with 64k ram, one floppy drive and a crude graphics monitor. You could nicely outfit a small office with PC's for what that first one cost.
Much of the time since then has seen me focused on the application of these technologies for someone else (namely my employers) with much success. Network marketing has also played a part in my past. More about these later or some other time.
Why do I start by telling you all this?
This gets to the purpose and direction of the blog. It's to share what I've learned over the last 25 or 30 years and what I'm learning now on a journey to apply and harness the internet's power for my family and me. One of the goals is to make a difference for others...to pave a path for others. This is an open invitation to come along as we walk a path to business success and personal development.
Off line, I've spent several years in network marketing - traditional network marketing! Over ten years of that was with one of the BIG MLM companies, 5 years full time. I LOVED IT! It just wasn't duplicatible. Four years ago I was forced to go back to a JOB. That will be another good topic for later on.
Suffice it to say, I've been to the other side of the mountain. It really is beautiful there and it’s worth taking the trip back.
Why I'm so excited now?
Knowing there had to be a better way back up and over the mountain has kept me searching. A path that would allow me to take many more people with me, one that didn't involve all the same pitfalls I've encountered before. One that allows for a different paradigm, one that is flipped around - where the prospects are coming to me. People looking to make changes, people looking for more time with their families, money for the things they need and want and the freedom to pursue their dreams.
It's all coming together again. I've found a new path over the mountain. One that unlocks the potential of the internet. You are invited if you'd like to come along for what could be the ride of your life.
